The catalpa tree blossoms

Unseasonal cloud and rain in Provence...but the beauty of the catalpa tree in the courtyard is undiminished. It blossoms in June with a profusion of orchid-like flowers, delicately veined with rose-red. The new canopy of leaves is a bright acid green while the trademark pods, so reminiscent of vanilla, hang beneath.

Hello Deborah:
The Catalpa tree looks wonderful so heavily laden with its pure white flowers. The green form is so much more sympathetic, in our view, than its yellow-leaved counterpart.

Oh dear, the recent trials and tribulations of Blogger!

I thought Blogger fixed the issues. I don't use Blogger for my own blog, but I haven't had any more trouble posting.

These photos are beautiful. And Blogger is definitely being temperamental these days.

I truly love coming to your blog as I leave inspired and at peace, and of course jealous of where you are.. but I do love San Francisco...

Beautiful pictures Deborah, once again I can almost smell them! Lovely. Don't worry about the computer stuff. I think it strikes fear into each of us - (it has too much power!) but always seems to sort itself out in the longrun. Stay present in the beauty of your home...

Le catalpa est un arbre magnifique, et tellement apprécié lors des chaudes après-midis d'été.
Bon week-end, Deborah!

I love the soft weathered lilac colour of the shutters, the warm tones of the stonework, and how the vibrantly leafy, flowering tree contrasts against them. What a wonderful corner.

Visiting from the SheWrites Ball. Your photos are stunning. I've always thought I would end up writing in Italy one day, but you're tempting me to France. Best of luck with your writing.
