The hammock has been slung between an oak and a wild fig tree, shaded by the leaf canopy in a position that catches the breeze. The heat induces delicious scents, from spiced fig overhead to resins from the pines. A cool drink and a good book, and happiness is complete.
I'm sorry I haven't been more active on this blog - or any other, come to that. I've got things to do, as you can see...

Oh, lucky you! Relax and enjoy...
Enjoy your holidays ! After all, we need a break from time to time, right?
I've always wondered about the fantasy of the hammock, the book, and the cool drink. How does one get into the hammock without spilling the drink? How does one set down the drink so pages may be turned? How does one reach to pick up the drink without dumping oneself unceremoniously on the ground? I think a nicely muscled, shirtless male assistant should be added to the fantasy. You know, to hold the cool drink. And the palm frond fan. 8-)
Makes sense to me. :-)
Thanks all! In reply to Marcheline: my top tip for a hammock-friendly cold drink is to put a bottle of Perrier in the freezer for a couple of hours, then swig straight from that. If you slurp too enthusiastically, well, it's only water. Plastic bottle, mind, or you might knock your teeth out!
PS. Nah. On second thoughts, I want the handsome manservant option.
That's a very pretty spot to do nothing :)
