Morning sun

It's been a crazily busy ten days, with barely time to take breath let alone write a blog post. But, after a two days driving south we are finally back in Provence. After the grey gloom of the summer so far in England it felt miraculous to wake up to find the sun streaming through the bedroom shutters this morning. This is the moment I always know la vie douce has begun.

Welcome home! Are you working on a new book while you're in Provence?

I can smell the air coming in at the windows...

Speaking of which, I've just ordered Agua Lavanda and also something called "Amber Lavender" by Jo Malone.

Ever tried that last one?

I came across Jo Malone by accident, as someone at work left a bottle of her Lime Basil body lotion in the ladies' room - smells gorgeous, and my elbows and knees have never been so soft!

Then, was watching the new detective series "Longmire" and the main character said his late wife used to wear Jo Malone perfume...

And so, in search of a perfume like "Lavande de Nuit", I'm going to try some of her "Amber Lavender".

Will report on my findings.

Welcome home!

Lucky you - sunshine is lacking over here in the SW and it's much cooler than usual. Not much rain, though, and July last year was much worse. Make the most of it!
